On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, the new Asclepius digital anatomy laboratory at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) Department of Nursing, which will help nurses build skills with features using augmented reality and artificial intelligence, was inaugurated.

A grant made as part of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s (SNF) Global Health Initiative (GHI) supported the procurement of two virtual dissection tables. The new Anatomage Tables, which replaces traditional cadaveric dissection with interactive simulated dissection tools, are part of a wider SNF effort to support nursing schools in Greece through the design of educational programs, the procurement of specialized equipment, and support for research and scholarship programs.
